Warm Weather
Well, Happy New Year. I'm seriously getting bummed about this warm weather. Sure, it's nice to be so mild when you're driving to work in the morning...but it's absolutely KILLING the ski slopes! We have been looking forward to heading to Sugarloaf for a few weeks now, and this weekend is looking like some rain....again. BUMMER.
This past weekend we headed up to North Conway, NH and stayed up at Attitash with Jen & Korrie. It was a great time. They actually got hit with some snow on Saturday, so riding on Sunday was good - lots of packed powder. I have to say that Pete and I were not too crazy about the layout of the trails & lifts at Attitash. It was the most odd setup I have ever seen. The worst part was that you had to get out of your board to make it over to the lift, which gets really irritating really quick, especially when you just want to get in lots of runs. But other than that, things were great - Jen tried out her new skis, and she stuck with it all day! She started out a little slow and fell a few times, but as the day went on she improved a ton! Hey, everyone falls right? I had a few nice wipeouts when I was attempting to get some air...it's all good, so enough I will be landing jumps :)
New Years Eve was a good time - we found a nice restaurant and had some great food and lots of drinks! Monday AM was a wash with lots of freezing rain so we skipped the mountain and went shopping instead. I'm sad to say that I took no pictures this weekend because my digital camera is a piece of crap. I'm definitely in need of a new one, especially one that is smaller and will fit in my ski jacket so I can take pics on the mountain.
I'm off to do my "cold weather please bring me snow dance". Hopefully the rain will at least hold out from upper Maine this weekend and we can have a great time boarding. I promise I will take some pics this weekend no matter what!
