knee deep in powder

so this weekend we got hit with a crazy storm in the Northeast. Most of the area got tons of snow and then some serious ice, but up in Stowe VT - they got about 3 feet of fresh, light-weight powder. We headed up there on Friday in the middle of the storm (bad idea), and met up with Mike & Amy. Took us about 6.5 hours, total blizzard conditions...AND we got into an accident. Fun times. We are both OK but Pete's car has some damage. On Saturday AM, we hit the mountain early and found ourselves looking for our feet all day. They were buried under all the snow! There was about 18" of fresh stuff on the ground early in the morning, and it continued to dump all day. I never thought I would say this, but it was almost too overwhelming. I don't think I've ever boarded in that much snow before! You definitely had to work for your turns, but it was still pretty cool.

We celebrated St. Patty's Day with some apres ski action, (see pic above) and then headed over to the Rusty Nail to see the band "Last Kid Picked". They were awesome and overall it was a good weekend, aside from the car accident and the 2.5 hours it took Pete and I to de-ice our driveway when we got home. Ugh.

Pictures are up in the gallery, got some pretty funny movies of us trying to maneuver through all the pow. Check 'em out!!
