to-matoes!!

Wednesday, July 26, 2006
OK I know this is corny but I'm pretty psyched!! I have my first 2 cherry tomatoes that I picked yesterday...they are very nice and ready to eat. I can't believe that I actually grew them (and that my plant is still alive!) I'm like Martha Stewart for christ sake!! Maybe at some point I will post a photo of my awesome tomato plant. to be continued...

What a weekend

Monday, July 24, 2006
This summer has been flying by! July has been one crazy month. I feel like every weekend there is tons of stuff going on. I can't believe it's almost August. Luckily the rest of our summer should be calmer than it has been so far. I'm looking forward to relaxing more, now that our little Engagement Party is over!

We had the families over this weekend to our house, for a BBQ/Engagement Party. It gave the Buckleys & the Doyles a chance to meet and mingle. It also poured buckets, but what can ya do? Luckily we have a huge wrap around porch, so everyone hung out on there. It was a great time. It seemed like everyone had lots of fun. In the evening we had some friends stop by to continue the party. There was some corn-hole action, beer pong, and even the firepit made an appearance. All in all it was a great night, but I'm friggin exhausted! This whole party-planning thing is too much work! I've uploaded the pics from the party - we all look a bit shiny since it was a pretty steamy day.

This week I'm hitting up the Bon Jovi concert with my Mom! Yes, I said my Mom! SHE is the one who is dragging ME to go! She loves this guy. It should be a good time, hopefully Mom won't jump off the balcony when Jon comes out on stage. We are also hitting up another Predator Wedding on Friday night, so that ought to be pretty darn fun. My liver is going to be so angry with me by the end of the summer!!

Corn Hole

Monday, July 17, 2006
So it's become apparent to me that this game is really taking off. At first I thought that the name "corn hole" was simply a made-up name, as sort of a joke. But after a few google searches, I found that there is like this whole underground cult-ish following, of corn hole players. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, then you will soon find out at the cookout. We plan on borrowing a game so that we have something to do while drinking several adult beverages. You can also see what I mean in the pics that I just uploaded from this weekend, at the Predator Cookout. It was a great time as always. Lots of serious corn-hole playing going on...and food, beers, fire, s'mores....inappropriate comments and gestures. And lastly, little Carl Jr.- showing all the girls his room. Like father like son I guess!

My Parents are cute

Saturday, July 15, 2006
So in true "Mom & Dad" fashion, my parents stuck a little announcement in the local newspaper (Springfield Union News) about Pete & I being engaged. My Mom was all psyched - she even bought an extra copy of the paper just for me - I'm sure it will end up in the scrapbook! For those of you who don't live in the Springfield area (lucky you) - you can check out this link to see the online version. I guess this means it's official - we are now published as a couple!!!

We are off to the annual "Predator" cookout today. Pete's hockey team (Boston Predators) have a cookout every summer and it's always a good time. Lots of beer and drinking - and laughing our asses off. Last year I had a little too much fun running around with the kiddies and lost one of my rings that Pete bought me. Thank God for metal detectors. Let's hope that doesn't happen this year, as the ring I'm wearing is a bit more expensive!!

DMB at Fenway Park

Monday, July 10, 2006

So we hit up Fenway Park this past Saturday with Brian & Lisa, to see the Dave Matthews Band. It had been 3 years before any of us had been to a DMB show, so it was great to go again. Even better was being at Fenway! Our seats were great, right on Center Field in front of the stage. They put on a great show (as always) - plenty of old stuff with a little new stuff mixed in. And of course, they busted out with "Sweet Caroline" after the 7th song, and the crowd went nuts. The energy was awesome. We hung out at Boston Beer Works before the show for some drinks and food. I got some pretty decent pictures of the park and the band - thanks again to Brian & Lisa for a great day, and to Bob for getting us the awesome tickets!!

Happy Belated 4th

Wednesday, July 05, 2006

On behalf of me and the King, just wanted to wish everyone a Happy 4th of July! Hope you all had a great weekend full of beer and hamburgers. The Bryant crew hit up NH with some camping action this weekend. The King came along and made it one eventful road trip. As you can see, he was having a few brewskis by the fire with us. I've uploaded the pics from camping, along with some other shots of 4th of July BBQ at Heather's house. The kids are TOO cute - so be sure to check 'em out.

DMB at Fenway this weekend with our friends Brian and Lisa. Should be a good time. I haven't been to a Dave concert in quite some time, so it will be great to hang out with some old friends and of course, go to Fenway Park!
