because girls RULE!!

We were away again this weekend for some snowboarding/skiing with friends. This time we headed up to Maine and stayed with Amy's sister & her family, at their place on Mt. Abram. It's a small mountain but lots of fun. They had some great trails, jumps, and really funny things for the kids to do. (notice the above shot of the "girls rule" cardboard box race winners!). My favorite thing about the mountain was the discovery of NASTAR racing! Pete and I both tried it out...he got a "participant" medal, and I got tagged as a 55 year old guy named Terry. I guess there's always next time...

Check out the gallery for all the pics we took this weekend, including some big air competition shots and great apres ski action.

I actually think we are going to take next weekend OFF from boarding! My body needs to recover.

sore, but worth it.

this weekend was awesome. My neck, bag, legs, arms, and abs are pleading a different case right now...but it was so worth it. We headed up to Vermont on Friday night and got caught in a lovely snow storm (always seems to happen to us on the way up?) - but we made it OK. My parents met us at the condo on Friday night and we had some drinks & dinner. We boarded all day Saturday & Sunday...conditions were awesome. There were lots of people but plenty of powder to go around so it didn't matter. Pete and I rode the park a good chunk of the day and have some fun little video clips that we took. Award for best face plant of the weekend goes to me, as I took a nice wipeout on one of the jumps. I highly recommend watching that video - it's classic. We still got a ton of runs in and really enjoyed the trials at Mt. Snow - good mountain and great apres ski!!

On the more shocking side of things, my PARENTS took ski lessons....AND they loved them. I know, I'm still in shock myself. Anyway, I have some great pics & video to prove it, so check out the gallery and take a gander at Mom & Dad doing their ski thing. It's pretty cool.

it's snowing!!

Yea, I'm a slacker. I have pics from this past weekend that I'm just uploading now. Things have been pretty crazy, plus I got a brand new MacPro here at work - so I've been spending some time getting that setup. I'm spoiled, and I love it.

Right now it's dumping pretty hard out there - supposed to get a few good inches of snow here in MA - and the mountains are getting killed with snow. This works out FANtastic for us, since we will be heading to VT for the weekend! We are going to hit up Mt. Snow and hopefully Stowe. Conditions should be awesome, and it's a long weekend - so all is good.

This past Saturday I hit up Wachusett Mountain for a day of riding with some friends. Jen, Korrie, Luds and Beth all met me there. It was a great day - good conditions and nice sunny weather. Luds & Beth are doing awesome for only boarding a few times, and Jen's skiing is improving! Korrie and I took off for some faster runs and all in all it was a good day. Later on that night, Jen Carabetta (or should I say Pelletier?) came out to this side of the state and we hung, had some quality chic bonding time.

Can't wait for this weekend!

Great Weekend

Well we had quite the schedule this past weekend - but of course managed to get in a day of riding. We headed up to Loon on Friday night in the middle of a lovely snowstorm. Driving was a bit hazardous, little scary and overall not good. But we got there OK, and met up with Jen & Korrie at the bar. It continued to dump all night and Loon got a total of 8 inches of fresh powder :) We got up early Sat AM and hit the slopes, but unfortunately so did everyone else in New England. Way too many people, lines were long, ugh. But we did as much as we could. I've uploaded the few pics I took.

Sat night we headed home and went out to dinner with Pete's parents & sister/brother in-law. It was a good time. Sunday we did stuff at home and then went and grabbed a few beers and watched the Superbowl with some friends. From the looks of this picture below, I think Mike was having an A-OK time. Thumbs Up!!!

No trips planned for this weekend...I will probably hit up Wachusett for the day. Yep, I'm a junkie.
